also tavi gevinson came back to the bookstore i work at and bought washi tape AGAIN! it was my idea for us to get washi tape and our buyer was kind of unsure but when she saw tavi gevinson bought it the first time, she let me order more. my coworker said she made a beeline for the washi tape as soon as she walked in.

its been a while since i posted on here. the summer was fun until july ended. i had some firsts this summer. first time going to disneyland. first time k-holing. first time going to la. first time getting lyme disease (actually getting it, had a tick blahblah). first time flying on a tiny plane. i quit my job at the bookstore to become full-time influencer. jk jkjkjkjkjkjk. j and i went to minnesota, then california to visit their family.

today, i was going through some of my old journals from the past few years and i was struck by how sad they are. here is some of a list i wrote in 2019 about things to change in myself in 2020: 

 anywaysssss, not to be like me me memememememmeme but yeah time is beautiful, we can change. still sad sometimes, but i think i have a lot more self-confidence than i did in 2019/2020. my love language is giving and receiving gifts, but i also think that extends to external validation. i want to validate others and make them feel good, but in turn, i search for praise from the world. in my 2019 journal, i wrote that one of my goals for 2020 was to "have a healthy relationship with instagram." cringee but true. i started my @the.realrealreal in 2020 and its made me feel like i get to connect with yall.

i rewatched ella enchanted last night. i hadn't watched it since i was a kid but it held up. i was surprised by the anti-capitalist themes in the movie. ALSO the costuming is perfect. it's a y2k take on medieval. if u have hbo, they have it for free. 10/10 recommend.

today at work, i trying to find a website for a notebook wholesaler and i misspelled the company's name. i ended up here. remember coolstrips? the website built in 2011 as a promotion for coolstrips.

today i had two doctors appointments in manhattan so i decided to walk from one to the other, which happened to be 60 blocks. i love wandering around the city by myself. it was a beautiful day. starting to feel like summer. i stopped in ktown to get lunch. i found perfect skewers of spicy rice cakes. 

i also got a free synergy kombucha, rose berry flavor! the combo of drinking it while eating the rice cakes was very turkish delight. i got a strawberry milkis bc someone recommended it during a q&a i did a while back about favorite drinks. a bit too sweet for me today, would of loved it in a glass with ice. 

i saw this dried flower bouquet outside of a coffee shop and i wanted to buy it for j, but it was $35 :+( too much for too little flowers.

so today im going to do a story time about when me and j went on a weekend trip to atlantic city in 2019. my co-worker had been talking to me about he liked to get a hotel room for a night in midtown with his partner for a staycation. i started to spiral and look up cheap hotels. i ended up booking us a room for one night at the caesars palace for $50!

been thinking about my visual influences pre-instagram. the websites i would go to find the images that were too much for tabloid pages. 

cobrasnake, snooki, and suicide girls represents three levels of hell (or heaven). cobrasnake is the too cool for supermarket tabloids, but similar in photographic style and content. snooki is status updates on facebook that cause girls from your high school to call each other slore bags. suicide girls is x-rated myspace, the spilling over from digital into glossy print.

i went to the park to watch the sunset. i walked across the big lawn and it was covered in puddles of ice. i smashed them with my feet. it reminded of when i used to go to the barn in the winter. after it would rain, the mud would freeze over and ice would form on to of the holes made by the horses' hooves. the sound that ice would make when u stepped on it was so satisfying.

ive started to drink weak black hazelnut coffee. i used to drink in the morning when i first woke up, but i would never finish the cup. a few months ago, i switched to english breakfast tea then green tea. both i drink with the juice of half a lemon. i like this a lot better and coffee around 1. 

ive been home most days this year. at least during the day. im kind of in a floating state right now. trying to figure out what i want my life to look like. 

ok everything in the post so far i wrote in the beginning of febuary. it is now march. i got a new job that starts soon. ive been taking driving lessons.

it's been a minute since i popped on here. remember when kylie jenner said that 2016 was her year of "realizing things". my 2022 has been a realization spiral so far. for better and for worst.

I've refound my love for physical audio. in my last blog posts i wrote about my ipods. while i still listen to my ipods everyday, ive gotten myself a record player as well. this was a bigger moment for me personally than i was expecting.

ive always wanted to have records but it seemed like there was a bridge i had to cross a bridge in my knowledge of music and audio equipment before i got them. there is not!!! i can buy records because i think they are pretty and NO ONE CAN STOP ME.
